The Youth Tobacco Prevention program at COSA-NCADD focuses on educating youth about the dangers of tobacco use and the myths associated with ENDS (Electronic Nicotine Delivery Systems), commonly known as E-Cigarettes. The goal of the program is to affect social norm change around tobacco use and counter tobacco industry targeted marketing tactics towards youth. Core activities include:

  • Conduct tobacco retail assessments
  • Conduct tobacco awareness presentations to youth in grades 6th-12th in Montgomery
  • Attend community events to educate citizens on the dangers on secondhand smoke and gather support
  • Disseminate facts about tobacco, industry manipulation and the prevalence of E-Cigarette use among youth using the digital campaign, “You’re Not It If It’s Lit”
