Providers who serve individuals with substance abuse issues are likely to encounter those who have also experienced trauma in thier lives. It is imperative that providers are knowledgeable of and prepared to respond to their clients who present with both substance abuse and trauma.
This introductory course relates to the clinical, assessment, supportive, and administrative needs of participants who provide care to those who misuse substances, and have been exposed to traumatic events.
Upon completion of this training:
Participants will define “Trauma” from a psycho-sociocultural perspective
Participants will name the two most influential psycho-social studies on trauma
Participants will identify at least 3 emotional, physical, cognitive, behavioral, and existential reactions to Trauma
Participants will identify at least 3 Trauma-Specific interventions

The cost of this training is $15. You must register. A total of 3.5 contact hours are available through the Alabama State Board of Social Work Examiners and National Association for Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors (NAADAC). Certificates will be available for all others.
