For many individuals, spirituality and faith are necessary to achieving and maintaining recovery. Therefore, faith leaders are essential community partners in inspiring and assisting people with mental and/or substance use disorders in their recovery process. During the month of September, COSA-NCADD has set a goal to reach 5,000 members attending church services in Montgomery County. Faith leaders are encouraged to provide information and talk about mental health and substance abuse disorders to their congregation. COSA-NCADD is making a limited quantity of “Recovery Month Tool Kits” available to churches who participate in the Recovery Month Challenge. The kit includes materials and resources on recovery and alcohol and substance abuse.
