HIV 101 Training

HIV has plagued countries around the world since its onset. With 50,000 new HIV cases each year, more emphasis is being placed on a vaccine or cure. During this training professionals will be introduced to the past, present and future of HIV, the renewed focus and what it will take to reduce new infections.
Upon completion participants will be able to:
• Comprehend the difference between HIV and AIDS. • Understand the impact of the disease. • Understand how the disease is contracted and transmitted • Recognize how substance use/abuse is a direct link to the virus • Understand why HIV/AIDS has disproportionately affected a certain race and gender • Examine how the government has approached the epidemic
This training is free; however, registration is required. Free Contact Hours (2.0)
