MAKING SURE TEENS HAVE A DRUG FREE SPRING BREAK

Hayenville, AL– The Council on Substance Abuse- NCADD (COSA-NCADD) will host its 2nd Annual Students With Achievement Goals (SWAG) Spring Break Camp March 20- 24 at the STEP Program- Hayenville City Park. The camp will meet each day from 9AM- 2PM.
The goal of this program is to prevent or delay the onset of underage alcohol and tobacco use and by enhancing the ability to apply critical thinking skills in interpreting media messages, particularly those related to alcohol and tobacco products. COSA-NCADD will use evidence-based curriculum Media Ready, a media literacy education program for 6th-8th grade students.
SWAG Spring Break Camp will feature prevention education, life skills, social activities, recreational activities, games, group projects, and much more. Homework and extensions assignments will be given to further student’s understanding of media literacy and to provide additional opportunities for practicing newly learned skills.
