Every year the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) recognizes September as Recovery Month. This national observance promotes the societal benefits of prevention, treatment and recovery for substance use and mental disorders, celebrates people in recovery and promotes the message that recovery is possible.
To celebrate, the Council on Substance Abuse-NCADD (COSA-NCADD) is hosting a month full of fun, educational and informative activities and events at their newly opened HOPE Recovery Community Center. This year’s theme is “Join the Voices for Recovery: Invest in Health, Home, Purpose and Community.” COSA-NCADD will hold an activity, event or program everyday focusing on health, home, purpose or community.
National Recovery Month is not just about individuals living in long-term recovery, but those who work in the field and make it possible as well as the loved ones that support them. All individuals are invited and encouraged to attend any of our planned activities and events. HOPE Recovery Community Center is located at 3447 McGehee Road, Suite F, Montgomery, AL 36111.
