Understanding Cultural Competency While Working With Diverse Populations

March 3, 2015 @ 9:00 am - 1:00 pm

As members of the helping profession it is imperative that we address and incorporate multicultural competencies and best practices when dealing with clients who have cultures, beliefs, and ideas that are different than ours. This workshop will be highly interactive and designed to challenge and explore our beliefs as it relate to clients that do not share our culture, beliefs, patterns and/or behaviors. Participants will understand the meaning of culture as it relates to practice and will take from the session an understanding of how as professionals, we must be able to step into the world of our clients. In doing so, we open ourselves to new learning and awareness and most importantly offer services to clients that are in keeping with their individual culture, values, and beliefs.
This training is free; however, registration is required.
